For all the jazz fans out there, the website http://www.thejazzmann.com/ is the one stop for all your musical needs. Dedicated solely to the genre of jazz, this website promises to offer new and exciting information on artists and their gigs from both the UK and
<place w:st="on">USA</place>.

Jazz originated among the African Americans from the southern states of the US in the early 20th century. It is basically drawn from African and European musical styles with an intense dose of the popular music of 20th century
<place w:st="on">America</place>. The strains of West Africa are rather predominant although this is a type of music adopted heavily from regional and local musical cultures.

Apart from providing reviews of the popular performers, this website also attempts to bring into focus newly emerging performers from just about all age groups, mainly from the UK. With full coverage of different events like the Cheltenham Jazz festival and the Brecon Jazz festival as well some of the other recently launched festivals, this site has it all. Set up by Ian Mann, an enthusiastic jazz lover, this website presents detailed evaluations of the different types of jazz music available. There’s something for everyone whether they want soft bluesy jazz or groovy upbeat improvisational jazzy stuff.

The artists are listed alphabetically along with short reviews of their style and quality. Get a list of the recommendations of the jazzman to find out the artist most likely to appeal to a particular taste. Visitors to this web page can also buy the works of the artists they like as it offers an option of shopping online. This site also has regularly updated section that has information about the recent events and upcoming shows in different parts of the country. Finding out about jazz has never been this easy and fun!

Just log on to http://www.laughlab.co.uk , it is one of the best sites on the web no doubt. No matter, in what age group you lie, whichever country you belong to, you will surely find a good source of entertainment on this website.

It is not a typical joke bank where you can find a large storage of jokes. As the name suggests, it is actually a joke research lab, which conducts research on the jokes that have been posted to the team of people who carry on the research work. Based on their study, they come out with the results which are quite interesting and humorous at the same time.

Surfing through the categories listed on the website, you will find a winning joke. It is that joke which will have everyone rolling on the floor with laughter. Subsequently, you will find a second place joke which gives an equal competition to the first one in terms of its humour. The funniest part of the website is that equal competition is there for the last place or the least funny joke which also gets listed separately under humour across the globe category.

There are some theories listed as well. These include superiority theory and the incongruity theory. Through both of these theories, the developers have tried to explain the human behaviour in situations where most of us feel humorous, with the help of classic examples. In addition to this, there is also a separate section listed under “images and soundclips” where the world’s funniest visuals and soundclips are listed. Anyone can watch them and make fun out of it. There is some fun facts listed as well. These include the reasons for all of us to laugh and how we can remain fit and immune just by laughing.

The most revolutionary product this century is most certainly the iPod. Its release and mass pilgrimage to the Apple Store caused massacres across the industry. Most notably of those was the sacrifice of the CEO of Sony because of his inability to foresee the future. But, to his defence no-one had a crystal ball that got it right. I would even go as far as saying Apple hadn’t a clue of the craze they’d created. From that day in 2001, Apple took over. Now their brand loyalty is beyond logic and should rightly be classed as a cult, within the leagues of evangelical Christians and the like. I speak of not an undercover Microsoft advocate, but a Mac lover and of all things Apple (this is written on a iMac!). I have been abused by its power of persuasion and the temptation to touch its glossy, silky and damn right beautiful design. The magnet developed to attract bone marrow they turn on when the Apple Store opens pulls anyone within a 100 metre radius (not proven for the record). Once your inside your common sense of willpower is now a distant memory and you begin your journey of enlightenment. The question arises, do I need this or want it? You pause and push the ‘want’ philosophy out of the door (the magnet normally repels this instinct) and convince yourself its a necessity, no reason to look anywhere else or consult independent financial advice. With a little time and a few words from the “Genius” your sold. So your baptized in the temple that Apple have raised. You visit on occasions like most dormant Christians, until a revelation appears from the scriptures in California (the iPad most recently) and you begin your pilgrimage once again. The point to this article is that all the teams at Apple must be congratulated, for they have started something so big, so huge that questions appear. Can they continue with world dominance? Or more significantly can anyone tear them down?

But I guarantee you that you will be one of the two, the best of the best will be out in numbers waving their pvc banners. I’m hoping to be amazed, and with the way things are looking so far, we’re in good shape.

Not only are we going to see the new iPHONE, we are going to see a new operating system that is compatible with the iPHONE, and iADS, which is supposed to be more interactive. And we can definitely expect a few surprises. I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if Apple decided to unveil a new product or series of merchandise. I would be thrilled to see it, but not surprised.

Also expect to see a new game center social network, in which you will be able to play multiplayer games against your friends, as well as leader boards. It’s going to be like console or PC gaming, but on your phone. How sweet is that? Pretty darn sweet if you ask me.

When exactly is the event? It is currently going on and will end on June 11th in San Francisco at Moscone Center West. Don’t expect to be able to get in without a fight, as I’m sure the crowds will be there and in good fashion. But that’s not to say you can’t keep track of it online and hear all the latest buzz.

Apple has already announced the release of the iPhone 4 and there is likely to be more to come. If you want to keep abreast of what is happening you can take part in the number of sessions and labs to held. You can choose from Core OS labs to developer tools.

We all have that friend that seems to know about all the latest products and inventions years before they ever hit the market. And we never believe them until it happens. Well, believe them.

You’ve wanted to create a professional website for your new business or for your organisation, but you’ve no clue about how much it’ll cost to make a website and run it. Or maybe you make money from home, and want to take a crack at designing a webpage to promote yourself online. People think that websites cost hundreds of pounds to run, however the market has increased and prices are much lower now, allowing people to crease personal and business-related websites.

Before you can put your beautiful designs of a website on the internet you need a domain name. The domain name is the name of a website, and is the name people use to find the website. Domain names are not expensive, with prices from £2.74 a year (£5.48 for two years) for a .co.uk registeration at cheapdomainnames. However you are not just getting a domain name, included in the price is a webmail account and webpage creator, and email and domain forwarding. It helps to shop around to find the best deals, you can get cheap email domains, or domains which may provide more for your money like webmail and web designing.

You will also need web hosting to get your website up and running. Webhosting is the webspace your new site will occupy, this is also a lot cheaper nowadays at prices from £1.99pm at fasthosts and again, you may get more for your money, as this package also provides as well as 25gb of webspace, a website builder, virus and spam protected email, and ASP.NET 3.5.

However it may be worth trying to find a firm that provides both a domain name and web hosting, for example at easyspace for just £2.25 a month you get a domain, 20gb of webspace, unlimited bandwith and upto 200 email accounts, as well as a back-up facility.

Nowadays, it is easier and cheaper to get onto the web, but it helps to shop around to get the best deal. It may also be a good idea to buy some web design software to design your own website, which may also cost around £50 compared to the services of a web designer company which can cost around £500.

USB flashdisks or pendrives have revolutionised the way we store data. Gone are the days when people possessed clunky, slow, 1MB floppy disks, as the average USB holds 1-2GB of data, some are larger (mine’s a 4GB).

With this much space, people tend to store lots of data on it. I did this, and ended up paying the ultimate price, when I managed to lose it in January. USB’s are so small, they can get lost or stolen at the drop of a hat. I managed to lose my USB in January, in University and despite many efforts to recover it, I still have not found it, despite hoping for a miracle (that being said, if you or somebody else found a Sandisk Cruzer Contour 4GB in London get in touch with the administrators!) it is now lost forever. Not only did I lose a fine USB, I also lost lots of data (including but not limited to a paper on long term care annuities which I had to write again, do you know how dull that is?!), because I stupidly, did not take enough safety precautions, during my failed search for the USB, I came across shed-loads of other USB’s that had been separated from their owners, this problem is not isolated.

If you have a USB, it may be a good idea to take some precautions, so if you do it won’t be such a disaster. Firstly, make regular backups of data. Try to download a backup programme, or use a file compressor like WinZip or WinRar. Save copies of your data onto a CD or DVD and update it weekly or monthly, so you have a copy of data if the master copy on your USB is lost.

However you should also make use of security features on your USB. I stupidly did not set a password on the USB, which would have been safe as the data would not be accessed by anyone with malicious intentions, my USB had a password facility on it, which I did not use.

On a Sandisk U3 enabled device, you should be able to set a password, and even backup. If not many good download sites like cnet can provide, safe and free software for your USB.

So there you have it, two simple steps to saving your data and peace of mind. I religiously do both now, after learning the hard way. So don’t learn the hard way, save your data now!

ShareThis

Because of my love for travelling and my freelance job, I am often on the road and find myself in different countries all the time. For me to keep working on my freelance writing and my freelance art I needed a laptop. Also, I couldn’t just buy a normal laptop. This would have to be something that I could use in conjunction with my Wacom Tablet to run applications like Corel Painter and Adobe Photoshop CS4.

These programs require a lot of memory and storage, a fast processor and a decent graphics card in order to run properly. So the type of laptop I needed was more like a desktop replacement. It also needed to be a 17 inch laptop because then I would have a screen size large enough for me to see my work and good enough to recreate colour accurately.

At the beginning, my search led me down the path of considering a Macbook Pro. These laptops are brilliant for all things media related and I thought it would be the perfect item to buy. However, I had a budget in mind and to buy a 17 inch Macbook Pro, it would have cost me several hundred dollars over my budget, so unfortunately that was out.

After reading several reviews, I came across the Dell Studio line and I fell in love. The Dell Studio 17 laptop’s specifications were just as good, if not a little better, than those of the Macbook Pro but came at a far lower price. The processor is fast, there is more than enough memory and the graphics card is also great. Also, the laptop looks fantastic with a sleek glossy black finish.

This laptop is everything I need to work, and that is the most important thing of all.

<p align="left"style="TEXT-ALIGN: left; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">With so many different types of camcorders on the market today, I often feel overwhelmed with my options, and sifting through the flash and glitter to get to a quality camcorder can be difficult if not annoying. But there is one compact camcorder that is definitely close to the top of my list, and for good reason. The SMX-C20UN Ultra compact Digital Memory Camcorder is possibly the best camcorder for its price, you can check out the quality by taking a look at these Enigin Videos.

<p align="left"style="TEXT-ALIGN: left; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">To begin with, the SMX-C20UN has a very sleek and ergonomic design which makes it a treat to hold and shoot. There are no problems in holding the camcorder, and long shoots, whether you are making a short independent film or you are recording your children make a sand castle on the beaches of the Caribbean, your arm will never get tired while holding this tiny computer. And tiny it is. There is almost no bulk to this machine, and it is likely that you will not even notice that you are actually holding it; this is even easier due to the 25 degree active angle lens.

<p align="left"style="TEXT-ALIGN: left; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">For amateur users, one great feature of the SMX-C20UN is the in camera editing function. This allows you to change and tweak all of your footage within the camcorder, as opposed to waiting until you have access to a computer. The Intelli-Studio software allows you to connect to any television to view or even edit.

<p align="left"style="TEXT-ALIGN: left; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">The SMX-C20UN has excellent video compression, and it also shoots under H.264 format, which means that your video will occupy less memory than most cameras on the market.

<p align="left"style="TEXT-ALIGN: left; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">And as I said earlier, the price is definitely in anyone’s budget. Priced at a meagre $199.99, this is one of the most affordable camcorders on the market, and considering its positive features, you are unlikely to find another model for an equal value.

Some of the best things that have ever happened to me in my life happened because of a mistake: like the time I went to get the bus, tripped over and smacked my face into the ground and awoke with blood in my mouth and my eyes feasting upon a twenty pound note! That never would have happened had I actually got the bus, would it? No, I’d have ended up spending money if anything–

Now, the following post was a mistake.

But in this case I have to stand up and say it was a naughty thing to do: posting on a Columbo forum about something entirely non-related to the great detective? That’s just wrong! I dread to think of all the people who clicked on this link hoping it to be a joke and were met with quite the opposite!

That said, Columbo would probably be proud of such a thing, wouldn’t he? He was a great lover of tangents after all. You could say he practically invented tangents and being ridiculously vague for TV. I can’t recall one episode which didn’t see Columbo talking about something that had absolutely nothing to do with the case in hand. Columbo proved that it wasn’t about the destination, it was about going wherever the mood took you; if it takes all day then what the hell!

Maybe that’s what is missing with modern crime drama: it’s just all so predictable, isn’t it? You know how things will pan out, it’s obvious within the first five minutes. That’s what I loved the most about Columbo, among his amazing catch-phrases. Yes–Often you knew how it would turn out, but getting there was a fun thing to be a part of. All hail Columbo! He knew how to be different and he didn’t give a monkeys what anyone thought.
